Ready to be Raptured Scripture References

Here are 3 Main reasons for why Christians who are watching for the Lord's Return should not attempt to pick the date of His return:

1. A time yea think not .

No matter how watchful we are about Bible prophecy, Jesus said his return for us would largely come as a complete surprise. "Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come." (Matthew 24:42) "Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh" (Matthew 24:44); "Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh" (Matthew 25:13)." But of that day and hour knoweth no [man], no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only." (Mat 24:36) Whenever the Christian community focuses its attention on a certain date, the surprise factor simply disappears.

2. What year will it be?

Even if you had the right date, you might not have the correct year. For any given year, many people strongly believe the rapture will occur on Rosh Hashanah which takes place Sept 18-19. If the Jewish New Year was the date for the Rapture, the chances of any given year being "the year" have been very small. From Paul's time to the present the likelihood of the rapture taking place during any of those 1960 years would be 0.05 percent. Of course, the chance of Jesus' return has risen with the indication that we are living in the end times. If the rapture was guaranteed to transpire within the next 10 years, each year would only have a 10 percent chance. When you have 365 days up for grabs each year, the odds are really stacked against the single date proponents.

3. Most events don't happen when everyone is watching .

If the world is going to experience something earthshaking, it seems to be a general rule that nobody has any indication of that it is going to happen. One reason the Temple Mount Faithful have repeatedly been unsuccessful in their attempt to place the corner stone on the Temple Mount is the fact that they keep announcing their intentions. Perhaps they would be sucessful if they tried to secretly move the cornerstone in the middle of the night. During the past year, the US military has had a series of high level alerts against terrorism. So far, nothing has happened during any of those alerts. Obviously, no terrorist is going to attack his target when his enemy is looking for him.
